India: UP to have Single Emergency Helpline Number from Next Month


AGRA: Come September, UP will have a single emergency helpline number (100) to report incidents of crime, fire and health emergencies. Officials said that the government is in the process of integrating the \'UP 100\' service (police response vehicle) with fire (101) and ambulance (108) services. Once integrated, the service will be re-launched next month.

India: First Aid Training for Traffic Police


Mysuru: First aid training was organised for traffic police in association with Gopala Gowda Memorial Hospital on 4 August.\r\nCommissioner of Police, Dr A Subrahmanyeshwara Rao and ACP Vikram Amte have been advocating providing first aid training for traffic police as it would help in saving many lives. Around 250 traffic police took part in the workshop.

India: 100 New 108 Ambulances Flagged Off in Jaipur


Jaipur:  Hundred new 108 ambulances for the state were flagged off on Friday (4 August) as a replacement of 100 old 108 ambulances which have already went off road or soon will be discarded as they have completed their lifetime.

India: Kerala Mulls Online Ambulance-Hailing Service


Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government is studying a proposal to launch an app-based online ambulance-hailing service on the lines of taxi services like Uber and Ola. Kerala Medical Services Corporation, a state utility, has put forward this public-private partnership (PPP) proposal to improve the Kerala healthcare model. If the Uber-model ambulance service plan is implemented, the person in distress or his/her companion could summon an ambulance through an app in one’s mobile phone. The nearest available ambulance can be rushed to the distress spot.

India: Mumbai’s Train Commuters to Get 10 More ‘₹1 Clinics’ for 24×7 Emergency Care


Mumbai: For commuters travelling on Mumbai’s Western line, cost-effective ‘one rupee clinic’ will soon open up at 10 railway stations by the end of this month.\r\nEight such clinics already set up at the Central and Harbour line stations have had a startling 17,000 visitors within the short duration of three months. The first-of-its-kind clinic was opened at Ghatkopar railway station on May 10, 2017.
