India: 108 Ambulances to Run 24x7 from September


Ranchi: The state government is planning to make 108 free ambulance services operational for people in both rural and urban areas in September.\r\nSudhir Kumar Tripathi, additional chief secretary (health, health education and family welfare) said, \"We have finalised the contractor for fabrication work and he is expected to fabricate two ambulances and send them to the health directorate in 40 days. We will begin the final fabrication process of the remaining ambulances once we get the green signal.\"

India: NGO to Train Government Employees in Emergency Care


Bengaluru: The treatment given in the first hour after an accident can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved, and public officials are often ill-equipped to provide emergency care following an accident.\r\nTo deal with this, the State Health Department has signed a memorandum of understanding with the NGO ALERT (Amenity Lifeline Emergency Response Team), under which the latter will train public servants, including police personnel, traffic wardens, BMTC drivers and ASHA workers, in golden hour care and emergency response.

India: Emergency Services Hit as Ambulance Staff Go On Indefinite Strike in 3 Districts


Ahmedabad: The \'108\' emergency ambulance service was partially hit on Thursday (13 July) in 3 districts of Gujarat as its operating staff went on an indefinite strike, an official said.\r\nThe employees have been demanding pay hike and reinstatement of their sacked colleagues, he said. There are 585 such ambulances deployed across Gujarat state by GVK EMRI.

India: GDMC to Setup Trauma & Burn Centre


Dehradun: The Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) here has started the process of setting up a modern Trauma and Burn centre in the campus. On Thursday (13 July), the Principal of GDMC, Dr Pradip Bharati Gupta, the Medical Superintendent (MS) of the associated hospital, Dr KK Tamta and other senior doctors of the hospital inspected the hospital for suitable place for these centres. The team weighed the option of either operating trauma and burn centres in the existing building or constructing a new building for it.

India: Emergency Response Centres in States and UTs


The Government has introduced a Pan-India integrated emergency helpline number 112 for implementation of Nationwide Emergency Response System (NERS) across the country with an approved financial outlay of Rs. 321.69 Crore with the objective of addressing emergencies such as those relating to Police, Fire and Health services.
