India: Emergency Services Hit as Ambulance Staff Go On Indefinite Strike in 3 Districts


Ahmedabad: The \'108\' emergency ambulance service was partially hit on Thursday (13 July) in 3 districts of Gujarat as its operating staff went on an indefinite strike, an official said.\r\nThe employees have been demanding pay hike and reinstatement of their sacked colleagues, he said. There are 585 such ambulances deployed across Gujarat state by GVK EMRI.

India: GDMC to Setup Trauma & Burn Centre


Dehradun: The Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) here has started the process of setting up a modern Trauma and Burn centre in the campus. On Thursday (13 July), the Principal of GDMC, Dr Pradip Bharati Gupta, the Medical Superintendent (MS) of the associated hospital, Dr KK Tamta and other senior doctors of the hospital inspected the hospital for suitable place for these centres. The team weighed the option of either operating trauma and burn centres in the existing building or constructing a new building for it.

India: Emergency Response Centres in States and UTs


The Government has introduced a Pan-India integrated emergency helpline number 112 for implementation of Nationwide Emergency Response System (NERS) across the country with an approved financial outlay of Rs. 321.69 Crore with the objective of addressing emergencies such as those relating to Police, Fire and Health services.

India: Western Railway Spends over Rs 2 Crore to Set Up Emergency Medical Rooms


Mumbai: Western Railway has spent a total Rs 2.22 crore over the past one year on the Emergency Medical Rooms (EMR) which are set-up to provide golden hour treatment to railway accident victims.\r\nEMRs have been set-up at 10 stations, including Churchgate, Mumbai Central, Bandra, Andheri, Goregaon, Kandivali, Borivali, Vasai Road, Virar and Palghar.

India: India Short of Emergency Medical Services as Ambulance Availability is 3: 1,000 People


India is facing a shortfall in emergency medical services (EMS) in urban and rural areas. The ratio of ambulance per person in India is currently 3:1000, said Manish Sacheti, CFO, Ziqitza Healthcare.\r\nThe practice of ambulance outsourcing in India is growing. This sector has a bright future as the outsourcing model proves to be beneficial here for any industry. Most of the corporate houses require dedicated ambulances stationed at their work place to provide immediate medical assistance to their employees during an emergency.
