India: CDPP Task Force Attend Training


Nagaland: 2-day training for the CDPP Task Force – early warning, search & rescue and first aid was conducted by Mon ADP, World Vision India in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority, Mon on May 25 and 26 at Council Hall, Mon Town.\r\nThe resource persons were from SDRF team led by N Vikiho Awomi, SI Home Guard & Civil Defense, Mon and the medical team led by Dr Ayong, MO, District Hospital Mon.

India: Centre’s new health initiative to train commoners in medical emergencies


Union Health Minister J P Nadda launched an initiative aimed at training the common man to respond to medical emergencies, on 6 June.\r\nInaugurating the training programme of the first responder course, Nadda said in an emergency, the first few minutes are the most important for a patient and the care he or she receives in that time may help save his life. “Such a person is a first responder, someone who is present at the scene and could be of immediate assistance,” he said, adding training for the same will be provided at Central and state government training institutes across the country in each district.

India: All PHCs in Visakhapatnam Agency Area to get Ambulances


Vishakhapatnam: Owing to lack of sufficient number of 108 ambulances in tribal areas, the project director in the tribal areas has taken an initiative to arrange ambulances with diesel chargers to all the PHCs.\r\nLack of recruitment of 108 ambulance drivers for a very long time, the sick persons, especially pregnant women, are facing problems, sometimes leading to death of mother or child.

India: Boat Ambulance Service in Kendrapara Soon


Kendrapara: Boat ambulance service will soon be started in Kendrapara district by the State Government for providing medical help to people living in seaside villages and within the Bhitarkanika National Park.Collector Reghu G said during medical emergencies; people in these areas depend on rickety passenger boats, which are not available during the night hours.\r\nThe boat ambulance service will be available round-the-clock and would be equipped with necessary medical equipment. The boat ambulance service was started in Malkangiri cut off areas on 2 May.

India: IIT Kharagpur Students Develop “AmbuSens” A Remote Patient Monitoring System


IIT Kharagpur researchers have developed a technology that might prove to be the life savior for many patients called “AmbuSens”.\r\nThis will the doctors to keep track of the patient health in the ambulance. They can also suggest the nurse presents in the ambulance to take certain action if the condition of the patient becomes critical.
