	The Global Emergency-Medicine Meeting (GEM) is organized by the Accident and Emergency Department (AED) of HKU-SZH. The AED began operations on 15th May 2013 with partial service, which was extended to 24 hours on 23rd October 2013. The AED is headed by Dr. Gary Chu, Fellow of Emergency Medicine of the Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine, and Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (EM). He is the BLS and ACLS faculty member of the American Heart Association, and various international courses and conferences.
