'Move to Withdraw Ambulances with Advanced Life Support'

Thiruvananthapuram: The alleged move to withdraw the ‘108’ ambulances with advanced life support has triggered a controversy, with the Opposition alleging that the step was to help private ambulance operators.

However, the government clarified that the ‘108’ ambulances with advanced life support would not be withdrawn. Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan alleged that the Kerala Medical Services Corporation Ltd (KMSCL) had invited tenders for extending the service of 108 ambulances that had only base life support system and avoided those with advanced life support.
