Kathmandu: A man was engaged in a heated debate with the staffers of the Central Blood Transfusion Service (CBTS) on May 27 afternoon, arguing that if people cannot count on the blood bank at the time of urgency, it made no sense for them to donate blood.
The staffers at the CBTS were urging him to donate first or find some other donors if he needs the blood immediately. They told him that the bank does not have the blood he needs and the chances of getting the blood was slim as there was no collection program on May 27 Tuesday.
Some officials at the bank were trying the numbers of potential donors requesting them to donate blood. Meanwhile, other people, who had also reached the blood bank seeking blood, were seen calling their relatives from the bank premises, urging them to come to the bank to donate blood. |
