Red Cross Trains Emergency Responders in Remote Abra Town


Tineg, Abra: Bracing up for calamities and emergencies, the local government unit of this upland and usually isolated municipality due to lack of road network and communication facilities, sought the help of the Philippine Red Cross to train their emergency responders last May 12-15.

Not minding the difficulty of going to Tineg, the Abra Red Cross Team did as requested by Mayor Corinthia D. Crisologo who sponsored the trainings. There were 100 volunteers composed of municipal employees, barangay officials and barangay health workers, youth, and abled women and men coming from all the barangays of Tineg who were trained on basic life support and first aid.
