Pune: As many as 500 members of the Pune bikers’ group would be undergoing a week-long disaster management training programme from next month.
The training will be held at the national disaster response force (NDRF), Talegaon. Pune district’s disaster management officer, Vitthal Banote said, “We are forming a disaster management group, which will comprise people from various fields and members of the bikers’ group would also be a part of it.
Our main objective is to be the first to reach a spot and rescue people during any kind of disaster.”
Banote added, “The training will primarily focus on things like giving first aid treatment during any kind of disaster and how to help accident victims. It also involves helping victims in case of a snake bite.” |
