President Park Geun-hye, who is soon expected to apologize to the nation for the government's failure to prevent the recent ferry disaster, continued discussing related matters with her Cabinet on May 13 Tuesday.
Referring to similar discussions she had with senior secretaries over the weekend, President Park asked Cabinet members for their ideas on laying the groundwork for a national emergency response system.
After apologizing directly to the people, the president will give details of a new master plan to bolster national safety and a new ministry to oversee emergency response and management. |
