Beijing Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission released its "2013 Statistical Report on Beijing Health Services Development" on April 15.

The report shows that the health of Beijing residents has continued to improve, and the average life expectancy of permanent residents reached 81.5 years, an increase of 0.16 year compared with 2012, and it is higher than the national average life expectancy by a margin of 5 to 6 years, with an increase of 2 years compared to the situation a decade ago.

According to the report, Beijing continued to improve pre-hospital emergency services last year. 21 new cumulative aid stations were set up; the city's medical institutions (including clinics, health centers, and village health clinics) saw 204,919,000 treatments. Among them, the city's community health service centers (stations) took 47,457,000 patients accounting for two percent of the total number.
