Panaji: The state directorate of fire and emergency services plans to raise community emergency response teams in all the village panchayats of Goa with the participation of other stake-holder departments to act quickly to any untoward incidents in their respective jurisdictions.
Director of fire and emergency services Ashok Menon said that the department has already commenced a programme on disaster preparedness and fire safety campaign in the village Panchayats starting with Pernem, Sattari and Sanguem taluka. Under this programme, as many as 641 persons from three talukas have been trained. |
