Mumbai: The state’s health department is all set to launch the ambitious emergency medical service (EMS) project from August, making treatment within the ‘golden hour’ a possibility for everyone in the state. Through the Rs1000 crore project, over 937 ambulances will be available across the state.
Dilip Jadhav, senior consultant for the project, said, “The state government has allotted the project to BVG India Limited, which will give us the first vehicle in August.”
To avail the service, you will have to call on 108, a nationwide, toll-free number. Of the 937 ambulances, 704 vehicles will have basic life support (BLS) systems, while 233 will have advanced life support (ALS) systems. |
