Lahore—Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) held a 1-day airport emergency exercise at Allama Iqbal International Airport here March 11 Tuesday.
The full-scale emergency exercise was aimed at checking the adequacy of the airport emergency plan in real time and space, testing capabilities and effectiveness of firefighting personnel and equipment, besides checking the performance of medical and paramedical staff in attending casualties and their disposal.
The exercise was also meant to establish a rapport between agencies working at different levels to deal with any real emergency situation at the airport including fire-brigades of CAA, Pakistan Air Force, Rescue-1122, CDGL and Cantonment Board. |
