Karachi: “Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) will set up trauma and general hospital cum institute of disaster management in Karachi, it will be free for non-affording people while PIMA healthcare network and medical university will also be developed in later phases” Prof Ahmed Fawad said this while addressing a disaster relief management seminar arranged under aegis of PIMA.
Prof Ahmed Fawad Prof of Surgery & Head of Division of Urology Ziauddin University Karachi highlighting PIMA relief efforts further said PIMA is also working to bring together like minded people to discuss a strategy to develop a constant state of preparedness and capacity building for disaster relief management. He said if we are to accomplish a higher level of preparedness in disaster relief management and be proactively ready before the need arises, it will require some critical review of procedures and routines through which we manage disaster relief presently.
