Asian Emergency Medical Service Council meet in Goa this October

Panaji: In a bid to train Indian doctors and paramedics in emergency medical practices followed across the developed world, the Asian Emergency Medical Service Council is hosting its annual conference in Goa in October.

Dr Subroto Das, founder of Gujarat-based highway rescue project 'Lifeline Foundation' and the Indian organizer of the conference, pointed out that India needed a large number of well-trained emergency paramedics in order to save lives during the crucial 'golden hour' of pre-hospital medical aid.

For the first time in India, practical workshops on emergency care during mass disasters, in the wilderness, for water-rescues and in situations involving hazardous material, will be conducted. Special courses will also be offered to hospital administrators, on international protocols and ambulance design. The conference will feature 50 eminent emergency physicians from the best triage hospitals across the world. To register, visit www.emsasia.org.
