Jaipur: In an effort to be self-sufficient during any disaster or emergency situations like bomb blast, Rajasthan police is all set to modernize its state disaster response force (SDRF) which will work on the lines of national disaster response force (NDRF). The force is likely to procure gadgets used for detecting and identifying chemicals used in bombs and will also get some medical equipment.
According to sources, the procurement of modern gadgets will cost nearly Rs 4 crore and within six months, the police headquarters will get delivery of items. The recruitment and training of personnel are already on and now with getting the gadgets, the SDRF would be ready to operate at the time of any emergency or disaster.
