108 Ambulance Service Set to Get Doctor Mascot

Chennai: Soon, an uber cool ‘doctor’ from ‘108 Ambulance Service will be talking to youth on the importance of emergency care.

The ambulance service will soon have a brand new identity as they move to the next level with a mascot named ‘Amby 1-0-8’, that will teach youngsters particularly students, the fun way, how to respond to medical emergencies.

Officials of GVK EMRI, which is operating the services funded by the State Government for the past 5 years, are working with media students of a private college in the city and have already come up with the first 2D design of a tall, young and friendly man in white with a stethoscope.

The ‘doctor mascot’ will also clear the air on various myths related to certain diseases by disapproving of the practice of giving metal objects to a person suffering seizures and immediately call an ambulance.
