Patna: If the impasse over 102 ambulance services was not enough, the staff of 1099 ambulance services in Patna also went on strike on February 11 Tuesday, the issue being the same - non-payment of salary. The Patna employees of the service parked their ambulances near Gandhi Maidan and staged dharna there.
As many as 94 advance life-support system ambulances of 1099 service ply across the state. Apart from carrying emergency patients, they also carry bodies. About 400 drivers and paramedical staff are employed with the service, which has been outsourced to a private foundation. |
