AIIMS-Raipur to Start Short Course in Trauma Emergency Skills

Raipur: In a bid to train frontline healthcare providers, including police and firemen, to provide the correct medical assistance to victims in event of disasters, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur has designed a new course for Basic Trauma Emergency and Life Saving (BTELS) skills.

Talking to TOI, Dr Ram Chandani, said the 4-5 hour course is designed for saving the lives of victims in disaster situations, when resources are limited. He said by learning simple tricks taught in the course, the frontline health care providers (trained police/ CRPF jawan or any other bystander) would be able to save lives of a large number of victims, if such a situation arises.
