Janakpur Ambulances Remain Sub-standard

Janakpur: Hospitals and medical care centers in Janakpur city have been operating all these years without properly-equipped ambulances. Neither the zonal hospital and the teaching hospital nor privately operated clinics and health centers here have any ambulance that meets the standards set by the government.

Janakpur Zonal Hospital has 2 ambulances, 1 of which hardly functions. The other one has been in a damaged condition for the last 5 years. Janaki Medical College Teaching Hospital has only one ambulance and it is also in a sorry state.

“Although the ambulances are in use, it is always risky to depend on them when carrying patients from a distance,” said a hospital staffer.
