Pune: Do you panic when someone in your family falls ill and you need to take him or her to hospital? Soon you will not have to worry.
In order to handle such situations, the State Health Department has kick-started a process to launch an Emergency Medical and Referral Services (EMS). Its toll free number 108 will soon be launched at its call centre, which is being set up at Aundh District Hospital in Pune.
A call from any part of the state will be routed through this centre and an ambulance will be dispatched immediately to pick up patients at the earliest and rush them to the nearest hospital. |
