297 Children Killed in Various Accidents between Jan-Nov


Kathmandu: Altogether 297 children were killed and 147 injured various accidents since January to November this year across the country.

Figures compiled by the child rights group Child Workers in Nepal Concerned Center (CWIN) show most of the casualties were the result of road accidents followed by drowning. Of the total fatalities, 110 children were killed in road accidents and 103 died by drowning. 

Likewise, 22 children died of serious burn injuries whereas 17 were killed after falling off trees and roofs. Twenty-one children died of snakebite and wild animal attacks while 13 died of electric shock. Similarly, landslide and infrastructure collapse killed 11.
