15 % Increase in Road Crashes


Lahore: RESCUE 1122 Punjab Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer has said that road accidents are the silent killers and mostly the young breadwinners are falling prey to such crashes.Therefore, all stakeholders should join hands for strict enforcement of licensing and traffic rules to tackle preventable incidents for safety of human lives, especially to save youths’ lives.

Average 700 families are affected by these road accidents on daily basis across Punjab, with 500 critically injured victims referred/shifted by rescue ambulances to hospitals for surgical treatment. Dr Rizwan Naseer, expressing concern over this increasing statistics of road accidents, said these were preventable emergencies which needed to be addressed properly by the quarters concerned.

He said that road accidents took place owing to fault in vehicle, faulty driving, poor construction of road, fault of road users, therefore, these accidents could not be called as the will of God.
