Hyderabad: In view of the cyclonic weather conditions and forecast of heavy rain in the south coastal districts of the state, South Central Railway general manager PK Srivastava has asked officials to be on a high alert and initiate measures to face any situation arising out of the cyclone ‘Helen’.
Additional general manager KL Pandey held a high-level review meeting at Rail Nilayam here on Thursday with principal heads of departments concerned on the preparedness to tackle any emergency situation that may arise.
SCR has opened emergency control rooms at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad and at the divisional head offices of Vijayawada, Guntur and Guntakal divisions. A multi-disciplinary team of officers drawn from various departments will man these emergency control rooms round the clock to closely monitor the field conditions and initiate appropriate action as required. |
