Nagpur: The central government mandated emergency ambulance service was first started in Andhra Pradesh in 2005 and has been implemented in many other states thereafter. Maharashtra has started process to launch the service in various cities in a phase-wise manner. However, a group of youngsters from Chandrapur have submitted a memorandum to the collector warning that if the service was not started in the district by May 1, they would launch an agitation.
According to members of Black Gold City Youth Foundation, the town is in dire need of the free ambulance service and helpline 108 due to presence of several collieries around it. |
