Mumbai: Bombay high court has directed state government to ensure that fares of private ambulances are fixed by October 31, 2013 while hearing a public interest litigation saying indiscriminate fares were hurting the consumers.
A division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice M S Sanklecha on August 29, 2013 heard a PIL by Nainesh Dolas urging direction to the authorities to fix a fare/rates of the ambulance which are not covered under the Public Health Department or attached to government hospital under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. |
