Colombo: Under phase I India provided a grant for the deployment of 88 ambulances in Western and Southern provinces.
\r\nThe government plans to expand Sri Lanka’s pioneering pre-hospital care emergency response ambulance service, Suwasariya, launched with Indian financial backing a year ago. Government sources told The Island that the free ambulance services now operating in Western and Southern Provinces would be soon expanded to the remaining provinces under the second phase of the project. |
