Not Giving Way to Ambulances Now Results in a Fine of Rs 10,000. New Traffic Rules OUT


New Delhi: The Lok Sabha has taken a major step regarding the Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill. On April 10, the Lok Sabha has approved the Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill 2016 which will bring about radical reforms in the transport sector. In the newly revised bill, the Union Cabinet has proposed stringent laws and fines to regulate road and vehicular safety.

The bill has for the first time announced a fine of Rs. 10,000 on those who do not allow for emergency vehicles to pass, especially during rush hour when roads are chock-a-block with traffic.
