Srinagar, June 27: Minister of State for Health (independent charge) Shabir Khan said the money was sanctioned by the Union Health Ministry led by Ghulam Nabi Azad. “We had sent a detailed proposal for setting up proper infrastructure to be used for ensuring health check-up of yatris,” the Minister said.
Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Saleem-ur Reham said special measures have been put in place to ensure smooth Yatra this year. “We have set up three-layer health facilities for the pilgrims: Emergency Aid Centre, Medical Aid Centre and then Base Hospital. At the same time, we have Sonamarg and Pahalgam hospitals ready for the back-up,” he said.
Dr Saleem said they have kept enough oxygen cylinders and ventilators available to meet any emergency situation. “Special health facilities have been kept incase a pilgrim develops heart pain or cardiac attack,” he said. |
