Bangkok: The National Institute for Emergency Medicine on June 18 Tuesday signed an agreement with the Universal Foundation for Persons with Disabilities (UFPD) and TOT Plc to develop an emergency call system for the elderly and disabled.
The UFPD operates Thai Telecommunication Relay Service (TTRS), a network that enables hearing- and vision-impaired people to communicate through interpreters, who then pass on voice or text messages to recipients. TOT will also develop new technology, to be put in place at the 1669 hotline call centre, to make it easy for elderly people and those with hearing problems to communicate with service operators. |
