The Beijing municipal government has decided to charge ambulance use in the city by distance, based on a fare system similar to that used by taxis. The new measure will take effect on May 1st, and it will also apply to ambulances called by both 120 and 999 hotlines. \r\nPreviously, empty legs of ambulance trips were also charged, but under the new regulation, the patients will only have to pay for the portions that they are on board the vehicles. According to the Beijing Emergency Medical Center, all ambulances of the Center have installed fare calculators. |
