New Delhi: The government has decided to make training in first aid and basic life saving techniques mandatory for those applying for a heavy vehicle driving licence from July next year. The move is aimed at making drivers the first responders and trauma care providers to victims of road accidents. \r\nA heavy vehicle driving licence will be issued only after the applicant completes the certified training, which will be organised jointly by the road transport and highways ministry. |
