First Aid Appliances in Factories

The Government of Tamilnadu have had under consideration the desirability of maintaining appliances for first aid at factories, with a view to minor injuries receiving prompt treatment. The Surgeon-General was asked to have a leaflet prepared, containing concise but clear directions as to the maintenance and use of antiseptic dressings for application immediately upon the occurrence of an injury. The Board of Revenue also recommended that all factory owners might be advised to keep small ambulance chest. The Surgeon-General, agreeing with this suggestion, proposed that each factory owner should obtain and keep for immediate use an ambulance compressed kit costing rupees 30.
