Baguio City: The Office of Civil Defense in partnership with the city government of Baguio will spearhead a unified march activity on July 16 to promote camarederie and brotherhood among Cordillera rescue and emergency response groups and to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 1990 killer earthquake that hit Baguio City and other provinces. \r\nDubbed as “Rescue M.A.R.C.H. (Mass Assembly for Rescue and Care for Humanity)”, it will be among the highlights of the observance of July as National Disaster Consciousness Month, OCD Cordillera Regional Director Andrew Alex Uy said. Through Rescue MARCH, we aim to promote better public understanding of emergency management and awareness on the importance of earthquake preparedness to each and every one, he said. |
