Govt Sits on Critical Care Ambulance Project

Jammu: The Health Department seems has done nothing to put 25 vehicles, proposed to be developed as Critical Care Ambulances (CCA), to use despite court decision on a dispute over the tenders floated for their modification.

The vehicles to be developed as Critical Care Ambulances are gathering dust at the department’s Nagrota Yard from last two and a half years.  To minimize accidental death rate, the Jammu and Kashmir health department had decided to deploy ambulances equipped with critical care systems along the highway in the State under a special helpline service number 108 and 104.

“The state government had procured 25 simple tempos under the National Health Rural Mission (NHRM)  to equip these with critical care system but the project was stuck due to dispute with the firm which was awarded the tender ,” sources said.
