Awareness Drive for Ambulance Drivers

In the wake of a study report that a majority of the ambulance drivers are addicted to drugs and suffering from health problems, the City police, in association with the Active Network Group of Emergency Life Savers (ANGELS), is planning an exclusive awareness programme for all ambulance drivers in the district on June 13. The classes will be conducted at the Chevayur centre of the Motor Vehicles Department.

Officials said medical experts would handle the sessions. “The seminar is conducted following the study reports of ANGELS — a common platform of ambulance drivers and emergency rescue service operators constituted a few years ago by the district administration — on the unhealthy lifestyle of ambulance drivers,” officials said.
