Beijing: China established a national early warning information center on May 18 to better inform the public of natural disasters and other emergencies.
The center is intended to issue advance warnings of natural disasters and other public health and security emergencies, said Zheng Guoguang, head of the China Meteorological Administration. Zheng said the center will step up cooperation with major telecom operators and portal websites to ensure that public receives the early warning information effectively and efficiently. |
