The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the Singapore Police Force, and other government agencies will be conducting Exercise Northstar 9 at the Singapore Sports Hub this Saturday (May 09).
The exercise will also be extended to the nearby Kallang Wave Mall and Stadium MRT station. It will start at 12.30pm and end at around 3pm, the SCDF said in a statement on May 07. Exercise Northstar is a series of exercises introduced in 1997 to test and validate a multi-agency emergency response to a major incident. It also serves to raise awareness of the whole-of-government response framework that has been put in place to safeguard Singapore\'s national security.
About 600 personnel and 60 emergency and supporting vehicles will be participating in the exercise on May 09. |
