Lucknow: North India\'s first trauma surgery department is set to come up at King George\'s Medical University. Trauma surgery is an upcoming branch of medical science which aims to manage high burden of road traffic accidents. It is also important from the disaster preparedness point of view. \r\n
Besides, an emergency medicine department was also created. Emergency medicine deals with complicated cases related to non-communicable diseases such as cardiac problems, strokes, etc. The two decisions were taken here on 4 January.
