Thiruvananthapuram: State Police have launched a toll-free number for accident emergency help. The move followed a public request on the Facebook page of Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. An official statement said here that the public can request for police help on the toll-free number 1099. Initially, the facility will be available in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi and would be extended state-wide later. The Minister had earlier announced that accident rescue workers could collect the cost incurred from the respective Circle Inspectors.
