The Trauma Surgery Section at Hamad General Hospital’s Department of Surgery was recently awarded 2 National Priorities Research Programme (NPRP) grants worth over $1.7mn. \r\nThese grants are in line with the vision of Dr Hassan al-Thani, head of HMC’s Trauma Centre, to complement the advanced treatment of victims of trauma with relevant research that will inform injury prevention programmes for the leading causes of injury in Qatar, which are road traffic and occupational (workplace) injuries, according to a statement issued on August 23. |
