Bill will requireHospitals to Treat Emergency Patients


A bill that will see staff at government hospitals and clinics punished for failing to provide care to patients seeking emergency treatment was submitted to the Union Parliament on June 30 by a parliamentary panel that investigates judicial complaints.

\r\n

Under the bill, the Department of Health as well as medical councils will punish staff at government hospitals and clinics who fail to provide emergency treatment, said Thura Aung Ko who chairs the panel.
