New Vessel Helps Emergency Response in Taiwan Strait


Fuzhou: A new vessel has been enlisted by the maritime search and rescue center in east China's Fujian Province to aid patrol and rescue work in the Taiwan Strait.

On June 24, the center said the maritime patrol vessel, "Haixun0805", is the largest in the center's fleet. It is 64 meters long and has a tonnage of 720 tons. It has a maximum sailing distance of over 1,800 sea miles without refuelling.

The boat has been equipped with advanced global positioning, satellite communication and radar devices. It can also accommodate helicopter landings.
